Q: What is a Junior Idol? Back
A: The "Junior Idol" classification was created in the Japanese Media
Industry back in 2000 to compliment the existing Gravure (Image Model) market by featuring younger models to fill the demand for such materials.
Q: What are the ages of Junior Idols? Back
A: The Junior Idol market is broken up into two age groups:
U-13 : Ages 8-13
U-15 : Ages 13-15
Q: What is on your average Junior Idol? DVD? Back
A: Generally, a Junior Idol Image Video DVD is a hour long Cosplay (Costume Play)
video with the featured model modelling Swimsuits,School Uniforms, Bikini's & Casual Wear against varied location shots.
Q: Are these DVD's legal in North America? Back
A: Yes & No.
None of the videos sold actually contain any nude scenes or any sexual material.
However due to the current legal definitions concerning child exploitation &
pornography, a video may be considered borderline Child pornography if camera
angles and length of the camera pans on the model's genital areas is prolonged.
Junior Idol Videos prior to 2005 do not have this problem for the most part.
However some Junior Idol Manufacturers from 2005-Current have pushed the envelope
in their productions and taken to "sexualize" some of their videos and would
be considered "Lewd & Borderline Child Porn" here in North America.
Q: Does Jpophelp carry any of these "Questionable" DVD Titles? Back
A: Jpophelp in no way supports the promotion of any materials that may be inappropiate
and lewd. We have taken steps to identify the titles that may be construde as Lewd and/or questionable and have removed them from our database and will not sell them nor will we take special requests to obtain such titles.
Q: So the DVD's offered through Jpophelp follow the legal guidelines here in North America? Back
A: Yes. The DVD's sold through Jpophelp follow the legal guidelines set out by legal
definitions concerning such materials and guidelines set out by Customs.
Q: You said that DVD's produced from 2005 to Current have legal issues here in North America. Does this mean you will not carry newer titles? Back
A: We are currently closely monitoring more recent titles to determine whether there is
any changes in questionable subject matter being introduced into current Junior Idol
titles. When we see a title safe to sell and does not contrivine the current legalities
concerning these titles, we will list those titles on our site for sale.

Q:Will these DVD's play in my North American (Region 1) DVD player?? Back
A: Most of the DVD's we sell are REGION ALL encoded. They will play in any player that can read DVD discs. Our most popular series that are REGION FREE are products with the prefix SCDV or MCD.
To determine the region status, most DVD's we sell have pictures attached. On the back cover you can easily determine the encoding information of a particular disc. If you find a number "2" on it, then you will need a European/Japanese DVD player or a Multi-Region DVD player to play the disc. A DVD player such as this can be obtained from many stores for around $100. If you want to make sure your DVD purchase will play in your DVD player, simply add DVD-01 to your shopping cart and select the quantity of duplicate DVD's you desire for a particular disc. We will verify the status of the disc and make you a copy so you can play it in your DVD player. Each duplicate disc costs $7.00, and is a service we are happy to offer.
